Volunteer for INCTR

Do you have some free time and a strong interest in global health and international cooperation? If so, you might like to volunteer in countries where INCTR works. Whether helping INCTR staff in Brussels or assisting cancer institutions in selected in low and middle income countries (LMICs), INCTR volunteers are provided with unique opportunities to get a better understanding of cancer control challenges and opportunities in resource-limited countries.

INCTR Brussels office needs English speaking interns/volunteers willing to help promote its activities and to support its work.

Volunteers placed with cancer institutions in LMICs are usually medical students with previous clinical experience wishing to spend their elective period (at least one month) abroad. Volunteers are selected according to their motivation, availability and skills. They are expected to support the costs of their personal expenses. Another important requirement is for volunteers to become INCTR Associate Members. Fully acknowledged as members of the INCTR community, volunteers are expected to act as INCTR ambassadors and to remain involved in the organization after their return.

Read about Jay’s Volunteer Experience

"Thank you so much for inviting me to spend some time working at Ocean Road in Tanzania and being part of your team helping to develop some protocols and ideas for the country in August 2009. It has been a fantastic trip and I have learnt a tremendous amount from INCTR, the local staff, patients and their parents.
The hospital in Ocean Road is a fantastic achievement in itself and doing incredible work, and the INCTR has come across as an extremely professional, dedicated, hard-working, committed organization with extremely approachable, supportive and helpful members. From my experience working in the international field, this can sometimes be hard to find.”
