Visit to IARC and UICC

INCTR staff visited the International Agency for Research in Cancer and the International Union Against Cancer in July. The purpose was to discuss collaboration in the area of cancer control, particularly with respect to activities in Nepal in conjunction with the Nepalese Cancer Relief Society. It was agreed with IARC to explore the possibility of establishing a project relating to the early detection of cervical cancer, and possibly to establish a cancer registry in at least one region in Nepal. The UICC also expressed an interest in collaborating in cancer control projects, and will further explore specific possibilities with INCTR in the context of Nepal.
