Do you have some free time and a strong interest in global health and international cooperation? If so, you might like to volunteer in countries where INCTR works. By assisting cancer institutions in selected in low and middle income countries (LMICs), INCTR volunteers are provided with unique opportunities to get a better understanding of cancer control challenges and opportunities in resource-limited countries.
Volunteers placed with cancer institutions in LMICs are usually medical students with previous clinical experience or qualified nurses or doctors wishing to spend an elective period (at least one month) abroad. Volunteers are selected according to their motivation, availability and skills. They are expected to support the costs of their personal expenses such as travel, accommodation, health insurance and other costs. It is important that volunteers develop long-term relationships with the institutions in LMICs and continue to work collaboratively with INCTR to support ongoing programs at these institutions. INCTR hopes that volunteers will become Individual Associate Members of INCTR.
