The specific aims of the office are to participate in selected INCTR programmatic activities such as the partnership programs between academic institutions in more developed countries and institutions in developing countries and the promotion of the development of an evidence-base of information related to specific cancers that exists within developing countries.
INCTR UK raises the awareness of policy makers about the importance of cancer as a health problem in developing countries by working with other organizations to include non-communicable diseases in the Millennium Development Goals, thereby ensuring that cancer is given a higher priority in the funding agendas of donors and governments. The Director of INCTR UK serves as INCTR’s Director of Program Development. INCTR UK also works with the INCTR Challenge Fund (Charity no. 1979181), the UK-based charity dedicated to supporting INCTR programs.
